देसी भाषा में आपकी और हमारी कहानी…….
’1990s’ का समय ‘Y2K’ होने की तैयारी कर रहा था। North India के एक छोटे से कसबे, “चुन्नीगंज” में सब कुछ normal होते हुए भी abnormal सा था। और इसी normal और abnormal किस्से कहानियों के बीच बब्बन, शेरू और अन्नू की कहानियां पनपती है। बब्बन जहाँ एक लोअर middle class का एक बेरोज़गार नौजवान था वहीँ अन्नू प्रिंसिपल साहब के इकलौते साहबज़ादे थे। शेरू का situation इस कहानी में पोहे में मूंगफली के उस दाने जैसी है जिसके बिना पोहा बन तो सकता है लेकिन पोहे का वो वाला स्वाद आना मुश्किल है। तीनो की दोस्ती भी एक डैम अनोखी ही थी।
लफंगे एक छोटे से कसबे के इन तीन लड़कों की उन कहानियों का ताना-बाना है जिसमे उनके किये गए जवानी वाले काण्ड, NCC Camp में नपुंसकता से सीधा एनकाउंटर, टाइटैनिक में Rose (Kate Winslet) को ‘एकदम ऐसे ही’ देखने की लालसा , कसबे में लल्लनटॉप रामलीला का सफल आयोजन , उसी रामलीला में मिले प्यार और उसी प्यार के बाप से बेज्जती और फिर उसी प्यार को हासिल करना शामिल है।
इस कहानी का हर चैप्टर हिंदी फ़िल्मी तरानो जैसा है। हर एक चैप्टर में गुदगुदाते पल , ड्रामा और dialogues पढ़ने वालों को बांधे हुए रखता है ।

About the authors
अनुराग मिश्रा, मूल रूप से उत्तर प्रदेश के कानपुर देहात से ताल्लुक रखते हैं लेकिन उनका बचपन और किशोरावस्था इलाहबाद (अब प्रयागराज) में गुज़री। उन्होंने बायोटेक्नोलॉजी से B. Tech. और फ़ूड टेक्नोलॉजी से M. Tech. की डिग्री इलाहाबाद कृषि विश्वविद्यालय से प्राप्त की। पेशे से ये एक फ़ूड सेफ्टी प्रोफेशनल हैं और विगत 10 सालों में अनेक बहुराष्ट्रीय कंपनियों में काम कर चुके हैं। इनके फ़ूड सेफ्टी से सम्बंधित अनेक लेख राष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पत्रिकाओं में छप चुके हैं। अनुराग को पढ़ाने का बहुत शौक है और इसीलिए ये 4 विश्वविद्यालयों में अथिति शिक्षक के रूप में विद्यार्थियों से रूबरू होते रहते हैं। चूंकि इनके जीवन में कानपूर और इलाहबाद दोनों का संगम है तो अवधी, इलाहाबादी और ठेठ कानपूर की भाषा में इनकी पकड़ काफी अच्छी है। लेखन में इनकी प्रेरणा स्त्रोत इनका परिवार है।
संजीव कुमार शर्मा, मूल रूप से बिहार के भागलपुर से ताल्लुक रखते हैं लेकिन उनका बचपन झारखण्ड के दुमका में गुज़रा है। उन्होंने खाद्य विज्ञान में स्नातक की डिग्री (B.Tech.) महाराष्ट्र के परभणी से हासिल की है और स्नातकोत्तर की डिग्री (M.Sc.) कर्णाटक के मैसूरु से। पेशे से ये एक खाद्य वैज्ञानिक हैं और विगत एक दशक से एक बहुराष्ट्रीय चॉकलेट कंपनी में मुंबई शहर में कार्यरत हैं। खाद्य विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में कुछ पुस्तकों के भी लेखक हैं। विज्ञान के साथ-साथ कविताओं और ग़ज़लों में इनकी अभिरूचि हमेशा से रही हैI उन्होंने बचपन से ही काव्य-रचना की शुरुआत कर दी थी और इस कार्य में उन्हें अपने परिवार और मित्रों का बहुत साथ मिला। इन्हें ज़िन्दगी और लोगों के ज़िन्दगी के प्रति विचारों को निरीक्षण करने का भी शौक़ है और इन सारे अनुभवों का अंश इनकी कविताओं और लेखों में साफ़ झलकता है। 2020 में इन्होने अपनी काव्य संग्रह ‘लफ़्ज़’ को प्रकाशित किया था।

I generally prefer reading English literature but mix it with a dose of hindi classics like Premchand, Dinkar etc, so Lafange was an exception a friend almost begged me to buy it. After completing the book in a single day, I can imagine why he ‘begged’ me to buy it.
It is a read worth every minute and every penny you will spend on it. The simplicity of the story, the warmth, love and friendship which it captures so nicely, is simply heartwarming.
I was born and raised in one of the similar small towns of hindi heartland and I could so much relate to it. Watching Titanic as the first english movie and unable to pronounce the name correctly, that is so much like me and many of my friends. Reminded me of the good ol’ days when a party meant munching on samosas with cold drinks.
Shout-out to the authors for this simple and amazing plot, the three warm and simple characters based in a simple small town.

This book takes its readers down the memory lane, the golden time of early 2000’s where emotions and relations were valuable assets and were given preference over money and status unlike today’s time.
The humour element which added the required essence came from comparison of situations from mythology.
Not at any point of time of reading it I felt that this is writers’ first novel, characters and situations were neatly woven and were in complete sync with each other.
I wish that the more would come out from these writers and every new piece of writing would overwhelm the preceding one as they grow in experince. I remember two lines from one urdu couplet are as:
“Itni aasaani se milti nahi fann ki daulat
Dhal gayi umar to ghazalon pe jawaani aayi”
